A drawing does not always have to stay flat on a page. This digital-display 3D drawing pen gives you a handheld way to work with supported filament and build lines into small three-dimensional creations. The display and side controls put the operating settings on the pen itself, while the separate power connection supports a tabletop setup. Begin with a simple outline, practice joining a few shapes and let the activity grow at a comfortable pace. It can become an engaging creative session for an adult or an appropriately supervised older child, rather than a toy to hand to a very young beginner. Follow the supplied instructions for filament type, loading and temperature, and remember that the working tip becomes hot. Protect the table and position the power connection so you can concentrate on each line as the shape takes form. Keep the workspace clear and allow the tool to cool before putting it away. From a little free-standing shape to an idea that needs more than pencil marks, the pen offers a practical starting point. Give your next sketch a new direction to explore.
